Cucumber
Cucumber (Cumunis Sativus)is also known as “Nature’s Waterbottle” because it contains a large amount of water.Intake of ripe cucumber helps cure pimples.Dryness of skin and boils caused by excessive heat are cured by it.
Tomato
Tomato (Lycopersicon Lycopersicum)clears blood impurities, cures acne and enhances complexion. Its regular intake is a treat for weight – watchers.
Ash Gourd
Ash gourd or Petha(Benincasahispida)helps to strengthen digestive system and reduces acidity. It helps in cystitis, urinary tract infections and kidney stones. It also acts as a body coolant and reduces body heat.
Cabbage
Cabbage (Brassica oleracea)reduces swelling and has an affinity for pus hence it drains out toxins from the body.The anti-oxidants present help in preventing cancer.
Radish
Radish (Raphanus sativus)juice is highly nutritious, is diuretic and laxative.The active ingredient present in it works aginst gram-positive bacteria.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera (Aloe barbedensis)is a miracle plant which is a natural fighter against all sorts of infections.It is used in
all kinds of skin ailments. There is hardly any part of
human body which remains uninfluenced by its healing touch.
Soyabean
Soyabean is nature’s precious gift for vegetarians. In China it is nicknamed as “meat without bones”. It is low in cost. Scientists claim that it is the world’s most nutritious and versatile source of food . Soyabean contains proteins, fats, minerals, carbohydrates, salts, iron, Vit. B and other nutrients. It is good for all ages. It increases physical development in children and restricts constipation and gastric disorders. It’s regular use strengthens the body. Soya can balance female hormones naturally. It even eases menopausal symptoms.
Amla
Amla (Embellicaofficinalis)caters all the six tastes at one go .It acts on the body to increase and decrease the three humours- Vata , Pitta & Kapha. Being the cheapest & the richest source of vitamine C, dried amla provides 3000 mg of vitaminC per 100 gram . It is heat stable ie not denatured by boiling . It is believed to increase the life energy (prana) & has a sattvic(soothing) effect on the mind.
Choker
‘CHOKER’ is the left over, after sieving the wheat flour and is generally thrown away by people .It has great medicinal value, so should be utilized completely and not wasted because
(1) It removes constipation by softening the faeces. It prevents the faeces from hardening and aids in easy defaecation .
(2) It has a rough appearance ,so it activates the salivary glands during the chewing process in the mouth . The enzymes thus secreted aid in further digestion of the food.
(3) It heals the ulcers in the stomach / duodenum (gastric/peptic ulcers) and also protects the intestines .
(4) It prevents various diseases & helps in controlling them . T.B. , cardiac ailments , hyperlipidaemia, piles & diabetes and some of such diseases .
(5) If used for bathing, it cures various skin ailments .
(6) Helps in reduction of weight, which today is one of the greatest concerns for over 80% of the people . So it is good for obese patients .
(7) It contains proteins, carbohydrates, fibres, calcium, sodium, oxalic acid, potassium, copper sulphur, chlorine, zinc, thiamine, vit.A, Riboflovin, nicotinic acid, pyridoxine, folic acid and vit. K .
It should be noted that choker should be coarse, hygienic & germ free. So it should be carefully picked.
